Quaint Holy-Day Traditions
'Round these parts, it's mistletoe, fruitcake and mulled cider this time of year.
On the other side of the world...
Beat and disfigure your spouse for Eid.

Gotta just love them whacky adherents to the religion of peace!
Me? I'd still prefer getting kissed under the mistletoe-call me just an old white trash religious bigot.
(God help this woman-and so many others like her!)

There is no greater blessing than to have been born at this time in this country. We read of, or see much that goes on in the rest of the world and compare it to our lifestyle, then shudder to think that could as well been our lot in life.
I know, Fish. We are all so lucky. But this poor lil' gal's tale haunts me. I know it's not an isolated event, women and girls (she was only 17!) are treated like garbage in those cultures by their menfolk.
Maybe if one of these manly men would sever their willy in the name of their moon-god, rather than disfigure a woman, I'd feel better. HA!
Better to be kissed under the mistletoe, than end up missing a toe...or ear, or nose...
