Mo' Fish For You !

Ah, jeez...here we go again! Seems these stories pop up with alarming frequency these days.
Why is it always fish? How about a turtle? A chicken? OK, there was that calf in Egypt with the cryptic skin folds, but that was just an anomoly, I think.

John at Wuzzadem, now tanned, rested and ready from his vacation has his spin on it.
(With the usual amusing graphics.)

I went to the first link. After commenting I'll visit John's post as well.

This is really too pathetic for words. Methinks these people are grasping at straws out of sheer desparation. What idiots.

I'm having a large bass for dinner tonight which a neighbor caught and gave me. I guess I'll have to check it's scales for scripture from the Bible before I scale it!

All silliness aside, I really do want to know WHY it seems its always a fish. Do fish hold some symbology to them?
And too, wouldn't that be considered wasteful, since the poor fishy wouldn't end up as a meal as it was intended but rather preserved in some way so as the 'faithful' can gawk at it?
I'm not being flippant here-I'd just like to know.

I once thought I saw Michael Moore's face in the fat graining of a steak.

Two things.

One, this is no more retarted than Catholics worshiping a cinamon bun that sort of looks like Mother Theresa (as happened in Nashville a few years ago).

Two. THIS IS ALLAH COMMUNICATING WITH HIS FAITHFUL! MOCK AND I'LL MAKE JIHAD ON YOU! INFIDEL!

Lem,
I take about a size medium in them there jihads. Got any in teal? ; )

At least with our religious 'fanatics', if I dare call them that, the images crop up on a plethora of items-from grilled cheese sandwiches to highway overpasses. Again I ask...Why FISH?
